In Italy, La Festa della Mamma (or Mother's Day) falls on the second Sunday of May, so this year Sunday 8th May.
It's only been something of an event since 1957, when a parish priest began the tradition with celebrations in the town of Assisi, Umbria. Word soon spread and others joined the festivities for Mammas and Nonnas, their hard work and unconditional love. Only one year later, the celebration had spread to all 20 regions of Italy.
In the UK we do things differently, celebrating on the fourth Sunday of Lent. That means Mother's Day for us falls on Sunday 27th March this year.
What we all have in common though is the desire to celebrate our mothers. So our chefs have created a special Mother's Day Menu, available only on Sunday 27th March. Where better to show your mum some love than in beautiful Buon Apps and our riverside location, where you will enjoy delicious Italian food and friendly, unfussy service.
